It’s a spice used in the local cuisine of Latin America, Asia, and the Caribbean that gives a tangy flavor and contains numerous amounts of Vitamin B, C, Potassium, Magnesium, along with many other benefits. It is also surprisingly amazing for your skin, eye care, metabolism, and immune system. Tamarind helps with heart health by getting rid of cholesterol, it helps with maintaining body weight, and lowers the risk of cancer because it is high in antioxidants.

Because of the amazing health benefits, I use Tamarind in my cooking every chance I get. One way I incorporate it is by using a tamarind sauce for my organic meat balls. I make my meatballs by flattening out ground meat onto tin foil and then adding spices into the mix before rolling them into nickel sized balls (the smaller size makes them more interesting to cook with and then eat of course! (You can make your meatballs anyway you prefer). Then, I fry onions, grated tomatoes, salt, pepper, and two tablespoons of tamarind sauce and just add the meatballs to the sauce to cook.
It is really easy, really delicious, and on the plus side really good for your body!
